Why Go 1,025 Miles?

Why would someone load up a five year old, a four year old, and a premature seven week old into a van and drive 1,025 miles overnight for 20 hours to only stay four short nights and turn around and drive it again?????

And who on earth would be crazy enough to take their own vacation time from working with children to help me get that picture and smile????
